How Now Becomes Then

  • PLEIN THEATHER 39 Sajetplein Amsterdam, NH, 1091 GC Netherlands (map)

The duet opens a contemplative space where it explores the theme of time having a spiraling motion. Through the ramification and fragmentation of movement, sound, and scenographic material, the piece adopts a rhizomatic structure. This approach results in an unfolding of possibilities that are already inherent in the present moment. Similar to entropy, the movement phrases and the relationships between bodies constantly change, but in our synthesis, entropy symbolizes not only a process evolving into chaos but also the transformation of what has occurred—because chaos is also part of harmony.

"How Now Becomes Then" is an 50-minute-long performance, featuring two bodies, three musicians, and two antique props—highlighting how each reality possesses its own rhythm and musicality, interconnected within a larger choreography influenced by Istanbul's rich cultural history.
